Amuse Carbon R BNR34
57.267
sec at Tsukuba Circuit "It's unmistaken that the RB26DETT is one of the
greatest pieces of machinery ever built. However, the chassis that
carries one of Nissan's most coveted creation weighs in at over 3300
pounds; it serves as a great opportunity to shave some weight. By doing
so, 120% of the potential of the RB26 can be extracted because of the
ultra lightweight GT-R body. This is the dream machine that I have been
lusting for a long time." Claims Mr. Tanabe from Amuse, proudly speaking
alongside the Carbon R. The coveted Tsukuba 57 second mark was first
achieved the 2nd year after the initial shake down pass in 2002. At that
time, there were talks of a possible 56 second pass if the given
conditions were ideal.
The ultimate weapon for the Carbon R is the
lightweight nature of the machine. A plethora of the body panels were
sliced off and dry carbon pieces took the place of the white sheet
metal. The 4WD components were also removed to make the vehicle into a
FR configuration, and even parts of the motor were shaved off to
decrease the weight. The final verdict was a 2400 pound. chassis; a GT-R
that weighs in far less than an average RX-7!Numbers never lie, they are considered solid evidence. A stock BNR34 generally weighs in at around 3400 pounds, meaning that more than 900 pounds were taken away from this vehicle.
"We were curious to see how fast this GT-R turned
out to be if the engine was moderately tuned but was placed inside an
extremely light chassis." States Mr. Tanabe. The engine is not as
modified as people perceive it to be. Most enthusiasts are able to reach
this level of engine modification.
The RB26DETT still retains its original displacement, but was mated to two GT-RS turbines for a total output of 520 horsepower. Most suspension components were untouched, not to disturb the manufacturer designed suspension geometry.
The finished result of the Carbon R is a wide-bodied vehicle that is covered with full dry carbon fiber. The quality is second to none from a GT spec machine. Yet by peering into the interior, anyone can tell you that the Carbon R is not a race car, but a highly tuned street car.

R33 Nissan Skyline GTR 4-Door
The Autech GT-R 4-door version was released on January 16th, 1998 to celebrate the Skyline's 40th birthday.
Just a few hundred examples were built by specialist vehicle manufacturer, Autech Japan, a Nissan affiliate company. Based on the two-door R33 Nissan Skyline GTR, the Autech GT-R 4-door comes powered by the 2.6-liter turbocharged inline-6 RB26DETT engine. Handling is complemented by all-round multi-link suspension and the highly sophisticated HICAS four-wheel steering system, which gives the car razor-sharp turn-in characteristics and excellent mid-bend stability.
At the same time, the ATTESA-ETS electronic torque split system controls the delivery of power to each of the four wheels. Under normal driving conditions, 100 per cent of the power is directed to the rear wheels, but during fast acceleration or cornering, when extra traction is required, up to 50 per cent of the torque can be directed to the front wheels.
Styling of the four-door was carried out by Autech and features specially designed, flared front and rear wings, rear doors, sill protectors, and protective rear side mouldings, as well as a new front bumper. The car came in three colours: pearlescent purple, metallic silver and white.
On the inside, the Autech features all the sporty updates of the R33 Nissan Skyline GT-R, like bucket seats etc
.
NISMO Version
So you like the NISMO 400R, but think some more space in the back would be fine? Then how about a NISMO tuned version of the Autech GT-R?
The NISMO 4-door gets the front spoiler, carbon rear wing, and 18-inch wheels of the NISMO 400R . Additionally, the engine has been improved immensely, with a new turbo, intercooler, and changed electronics making for an increase of power to 380 hp. Of course, the 400R is overall quicker than the four-door.
But if the 400R is the ultimate race-car for the street, then the NISMO 4-door is the ultimate sports-sedan, with almost race-car-like dynamics.

Nissan GT-R 4-Door Coupe
Following earlier speculations of a GT-R based Infiniti sports sedan, Japanese magazine Best Car is now reporting in its latest issue that Nissan is also working on a 4door-coupe variant of its legendary GT-R.
The four-doored GT-R would supposedly use a stretched version of the coupe’s FM platform along with all the mechanical hardware including the 480HP twin turbo 3.8-liter V6 engine, the sophisticated all wheel-drive and the dual clutch semi-auto transmission.
